Virginia and America's Heritage

In addition to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, several
other of America's early presidents, including James Madison and James Monroe,
were born and raised in Virginia.
The Declaration of Independence, adopted by Congress on July 4, 1776, declares "... We hold
these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent
of the governed..." Our great country was founded on the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our founding fathers believed deeply in God and our currency
reflects that with "In God We Trust".
God ordained 3 institutions: family, church, and government.
